Iberostar Paraiso Beach Review: Family-Friendly All-Inclusive in Riviera Maya

If you’re searching for an honest Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach review, especially for a family trip, you’ve come to the right place. After more than a dozen trips to Mexico, this Riviera Maya all-inclusive resort quickly became one of our favorites. We traveled with a large group that included grandparents and kids ages 3 to 16. Finding a family-friendly all-inclusive resort in Mexico that worked for everyone was challenging, but Iberostar delivered. From the service and food to the beach and activities, here’s our full experience at Iberostar Paraiso Beach.

Iberostar Paraiso Beach Location & First Impressions

From the moment we arrived, the lobby and shared spaces made a lasting impression. The property is full of beautiful wildlife – peacocks, flamingos, macaws, and more. The kids loved seeing the animals everyday, and it made our visit that much more memorable. At one point, a flock of flamingos even walked through the lobby during check-in. It was such a fun and unexpected moment that instantly set the tone for our stay. The front desk staff was warm, attentive, and incredibly accommodating. We knew the moment we walked in and they handed us a fresh pineapple drink, we were in for a special trip.

Service & Hospitality

The level of service truly stood out throughout our stay. After learning we were celebrating our anniversary, the staff surprised us with champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries in our room. When they realized one of us had a broken foot, they proactively offered a first floor room for easier access. And when our six year old fell asleep at dinner after a long travel day, the staff quickly arranged two chairs into a comfortable makeshift bed for her. It was clear that every detail mattered, and the team consistently went above and beyond.

Rooms at Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach

The rooms themselves were nicer than many we’ve experienced at other all-inclusive resorts. Each room included comfortable beds, a sofa, a small table, and a spacious bathroom. Amenities such as a safe, mini fridge, refillable glass water bottles, and full-size toiletries (including liquid hand soap – a small but appreciated detail, especially with kids!) made the stay even more convenient. Our patio featured seating to relax and enjoy the surroundings, along with a drying rack for swimsuits after a day in the water.

Beach & Pools

While we didn’t have enough time to experience everything the resort offers, we spent a lot of time at the beach and pools. The beach was our favorite place to spend the day. It was clean, spacious, lined with shaded huts and plenty of lounge chairs. The beach bar and attentive service made it easy to relax while drinks were delivered right to our chairs. One of our favorite features was the beach grill, where we could grab made-to-order tacos, nachos, burgers, and hot dogs without ever leaving the sand. With fresh fruit and ice cream readily available, it was easy to keep everyone happy throughout the day.

The pools were equally enjoyable, offering something for everyone. Whether we were lounging in the built-in pool chairs or joining in on a lively, family-friendly pool party, there was always something to enjoy. There were plenty of chairs at the pool, too. It was nice not to have to rush to the pool to reserve lounge chairs every morning.

There was no shortage of activities throughout the day and evening. From morning yoga and beach volleyball to cornhole, poolside entertainment, and nightly shows, there was always something happening for guests of all ages.

Food & Restaurants at Iberostar Paraiso Beach

One of the biggest highlights of our stay was the food and overall dining experience. While we typically keep our expectations modest when it comes to all-inclusive dining, Iberostar exceeded in both quality and variety. Despite having a group of 12, we had no trouble securing dinner reservations and enjoyed several specialty restaurants, including the Japanese hibachi, the Smokehouse, and the Gourmet restaurant. Each meal was delicious, and the service was consistently excellent. The resort was also incredibly accommodating when it came to dietary needs. With a food allergy in our group, we were provided with an allergy card at check-in, and the chefs took great care to ensure safe and enjoyable meals.

Beyond the formal dining options, we loved the accessibility of food throughout the resort. Fresh grilling at the pool and beach made it easy to grab a quick bite without interrupting our day, and ice cream stands were conveniently located throughout the property. And we can’t forget one of our favorite nightly traditions – the crepe shop. After dinner, we would walk over for freshly made crepes, and it quickly became a highlight of the trip. The shop itself was charming, and the warm, made-to-order crepes were absolutely delicious. Breakfast offered all the classic all-inclusive favorites, including made-to-order omelets, pastries, fresh fruit, pancakes, waffles, French toast, cereal, donuts, breakfast meats, and fresh-squeezed juice. There was literally something for everyone to start the day.

Mexican Hospitality

Perhaps the most memorable part of our stay was the genuine hospitality. The staff consistently remembered us, greeted us warmly, and went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed. Their attentiveness and kindness made a lasting impression and truly elevated our experience. We couldn’t have asked for a better trip. While we were initially hesitant about returning to Mexico, this experience completely reassured us. The team at Iberostar went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable, and we’re so glad we chose to come back.

Final Thoughts

If you’re considering a Riviera Maya all-inclusive resort for families, Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach is absolutely worth it. Between the incredible service, wide variety of food options, family-friendly activities, and beautiful beachfront setting, it offers exceptional value for a Mexico vacation. Whether you’re planning a trip with young kids, teens, or a multi-generational group, this resort makes it easy to relax and enjoy your time together. After this stay, it’s safe to say we’ll definitely be returning, and recommending it to anyone looking for a stress-free family vacation in Mexico.
