Beach Vacation Gift Ideas: Family Travel Essentials for Kids and Adults

Before we headed out on our beach vacation, I wanted to create something simple, but meaningful, for our travel crew. I wanted something that would feel fun, useful, and a little bit special the moment everyone arrived.

Each bag was filled with vacation essentials chosen with intention, personality, and practicality in mind. I didn’t want anything overly complicated, just items that would actually get used throughout the week while adding to the excitement of being together.

What’s inside each gift bag:

For the kids, I included a colorful beach bag designed just for collecting seashells. It quickly became one of their favorite parts of the trip. Every walk on the beach turned into a treasure hunt. I had intended to Cricut their names on the bags, but ran out of time.

Since we were on the beach, I added waterproof phone cases to keep devices safe from sand and water. These were perfect for capturing memories on the beach and beautiful sea life while snorkeling. These cases helped us come home with the coolest underwater pictures.

I also included beach towel clips to keep towels in place on windy beach days—such a small item, but one that makes a big difference when you’re trying to relax. Again, I had planned to Cricut them – maybe next time!

For the guys, each bag had a can koozie to keep their drinks cold while they enjoyed the beach, pool, or sunset hangouts. For the ladies, I added insulated tumblers—perfect for iced coffee in the morning or a cold drink by the pool all afternoon. Nothing ruins a frozen drink quicker than the hot sun, so I wanted something that would keep everything cold while we warmed up down South.

And of course, I tied it all together with something you can’t buy: a lot of love and anticipation for the memories we were about to make. These gift bags weren’t about perfection; they were about intention. A simple way to say, I’m excited to share this trip with you. It’s easy for vacations to start with stress, packing chaos, and last-minute scrambling. But handing everyone a bag like this instantly shifts the energy.
